Strategic partnership development emerged as another key theme. Stannard suggests focusing on building strategic relationships with a select group of high-performing suppliers. Building deeper relationships allows for a deeper level of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and, ultimately, mutual benefit. Similarly, Alaina emphasized the importance of “reaching out to specialized suppliers with expertise in specific commodities or product lines. This targeted approach ensures we are accessing the best possible resources for our needs.”

Phuong Jackman highlights the importance of rewarding vendors for their efforts with orders. “By following through with the vendors that supply information, we demonstrate our commitment to a long-term partnership, which incentivizes suppliers to go the extra mile for Rand Technology.” Additionally, she proposes offering strategic support to local vendors, such as compensatory business or supplier development programs.
